Submission Guidelines

The Software Requirements Tool Track (WER-SRTT) offers researchers and practitioners a dedicated platform to showcase and demonstrate tools that facilitate any phase of software requirements engineering. This track encompasses both technical presentations and practical demonstrations, with live tool demos that highlight their capabilities and real-world applications.

Researchers are encouraged to submit tools derived from applied research efforts, while industry professionals are invited to present commercial or proprietary tools that have delivered improvements in productivity or quality within requirements engineering.

Paper and Video Sumbission Requirements

Submissions must include a paper and a demo video, adhering to the guidelines below:

  1. Paper Requirements
    1. Must be original, unpublished, and not under review in any other academic venue.
    2. Content should clearly cover:
      1. The motivation or problem the tool addresses
      2. Key functionalities and intended user base
      3. Examples of use and interface screenshots (if applciable)
      4. Architecture, core components, and interface descriptions
      5. Brief comparison with similar tools, and
      6. Software license type (e.g., open source, proprietary)
    3. Submissions must follow the LNCS formatting guidelines and be 5-8 pages in length
  2. Video Requirements
    1. A 2-4 minute demo video with narration in the paper's language, showcasing the tool in action
    2. The video must be informative and visually demonstrate the tool's core features and benefits

Submission Process and Evaluation

All sumbissions that include both the paper and video will be evaluated by at least three committee members. Sumbissions that lack the required paper/video combination, are off scope, or violate originality requirements will be desk-rejected, and program chairs of related venues will be notified.

Authors are encouraged to provide links to open-source code and datasets in preserved digital repositories (e.g., zenodo.org, figshare.com, softwareheritage.org). For in-house tools that are proprietary, authors shall explain their rationale for not open-sourcing.

Review criteria

Each submission will be evaluated based on:

  • Relevance of the tool to software requirements engineering
  • Innovation and contribution compared to existing tools
  • Clarity and quality of presentation in both the paper and video, and
  • Engagement with related work in the field
